Afternoon I was wondering if you can advise and help us.
We have almost completed an extension which is designed to be mainly a Sunroom/Dining room.
Although we are a bit off finishing the extension as a whole we are almost complete in the main part and have started to use it pretty much all the time... The room gives so much natural light we love it. However now we are reaching summer we now realise how important shutting off the light is too, especially on an evening for "movie nights" etc.
We haven't really looked into the options much, so here we are....
Priority is the Bi-Folds, we (I) have invested in a rather large TV which turns the room into a cinema. With so much light coming in via the Bi-folds it dilutes the light emitted from the TV.
Also we would like an electric one to slide across lantern but maybe this is more of a luxury item we cant justify as of yet.
We are not sure the feature windows need any blinds nor the french doors due to the elevation they are on.
The less intrusive blinds the better.
Look forward to hearing your response
Here are some pics of the windows/doors in question. Oh and please forgive the mess. The house is still upside down at the moment...

Hi Craig, Are the blinds on this side of the door, as I cannot see the frame around them.
Hi James , please see photos of blinds that I have used on both bifold doors and french doors , they are a framed blackout pleated type , very neat and unobtrusive when not in use , but ideal for very sunny rooms.
Hi James
Were you planning on sitting the skylight blind on top of the shelf/ledge around the bottom of the aperture? What is the depth of the shelf? Do you already have power to that opening?
Thanks for the responses.
The lantern blind would be above the cornice. There are LED's around that and a hidden power socket in corner. The two longer sides have good fixing points as plaster board is fixed straight to triple 200mm joists, so this would allow a rail to be secured?!
PS I am a sucker for gadgets but a little out of touch. The thought of a wirelessly activated blind system would be cool.
Extension looks great BTW
Can we see external shots of what you built? I am intrigued to see the materials you used on the outside of the extension.
Here it is. My humble House. We currently have scaffold up, as we are getting rid of those dated (horrid?!) green 1960's tiles and getting rendered in next couple of weeks. I Installed a VM Zinc standing seam cladding system to front elevation and a Single Ply membrane roof. The rest I needed a lot of help from friends!
That's quite an engineering feat. We were thinking of something similar. Going to dig out some photos of what we had seen. Does the Zinc change colour as it ages.
@Hadsor Sales If you go for the natural Zinc it comes bare and will tarnish in time. Most opt for a coated Zinc which stays the same colour to a point where the paint will naturally fade over the years.
If you scratch it the scratch will dull down and almost disappear unlike metals such as aluminium etc
Roller Blind Option which can be battery powered and could be controlled via an App....
Like the gadgeteering on those! Not sure I like the fact they look so "bare" and uninspiring when not used?! (though it is difficult to see on that pic. if that makes sense.. Looking at them and opening as was just thinking wether I could get a powder coated aluminium flashing to conceal it? Or would this improvise the remote connection?
The blinds would be supplied with a decorative box to cover the fabric. The standard colour is white, but can be powder coated to any RAL colour.
Ah great. That sounds ideal
The bottom of the blinds can be finished with a decorative bar too,
which adds another detail
